I read this article earlier today and it makes me wonder how necessary is organic chemistry and physics for med school? I’m not in med school as yet but from what I’ve been told from numerous med students, it would make more sense if anatomy and physiology and genetics were pre-med requirements….

Some of physiology has the basis of physics, except that the physics we learned has more practical, force and
electricity effect than vascular resistance.. Then again, that would be physio and not physics?

Though, I enjoyed physics and was able to observe some similarities in different applications.
It’s just that the field of medicine is so broad … There are other MDs who are into research and we all need the
same degree to be a researcher or a clinician. Perhaps, these subjects would fascinate and be useful to those
    researchers.

Would it be better if we join the rest of the world and place 6 years of medical education vs. 8 years due to
The “useless” GE classes during the first two years of college? It would certainly save so much more money
    Needed for the ERAS apps!
