A Life Altering Accessory

The Brooklyn Bridge, taken from the Manhattan Bridge

I purchased a sleek new running backpack last week. I took it for a spin, and am very much in love with it. I can now go running and bring water, money, keys, and most importantly my iPhone with me. I was so used to running without a camera that I unfortunately forgot to take pictures until I was coming back over the Manhattan Bridge. The above photo was shot during my run. Expect more awesome running photos to come!

The second photo is what happens when a squirrel decides to climb the Manhattan Bridge. Seriously, squirrel, what were you doing on the bridge?! (My knees and I have a love-hate relationship, as you can tell from the numerous dents and scars.)

You are always bruising your knees.

  • Your loving son,

As it would happen, when reading of your squirrel interaction, I was listening to “Squirrel Rights” by Rhett & Link
    ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-n2vVtSBOos )

    Something to consider.

So … did you and the squirrel collide or what? Did he think he’d find a tree there on the bridge? :)

(You should start running with knee pads!)

Beautiful view. not so beautiful injury. Squirrels are weird.

Not quite. Apparently my dogs are very, very obsessed with squirrels! (what dog isn’t?) and hence they thought it would be a great idea to lunge with all of their strength towards him/her. and i was not prepared for said lunge, which resulted in me eating concrete.

and yes, i should actually start wearing knee pads 24/7 (i am incredibly clumsy even without squirrels!) ;)

  • Dr. Psychobabble

that was incredibly, incredibly, incredibly scary.

    and awesome!!

    love,
    mom
