I Found a Picture of You

“I found a picture of you, oh oh oh
What hijacked my world that night
to a place in the past
We’ve been cast out of? oh oh oh
Now we’re back in the fight”
- The Pretenders, “Back on the Chain Gang”

BFFs

Too tired to write about my day at work today, but let it be known that it was awesome. Tomorrow is my last day at the psychiatric/medicine clinic.

Please enjoy this photo of me and my friend Chris having a lovely dinner and enjoying life in lieu of words.

You Were Only Waiting for This Moment to Arise

“Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise”
- The Beatles, “Blackbird”

You spin me right round, baby

I want to post some inspirational and thoughtful words right now, but I’m more interested in eating and dancing at the moment. And speaking of dancing, I have said to three patients this week, “here is a prescription for your health, dance every single day.” So far, this has made every one of my patients happy. And I know that at least one of them took my words to heart.

Alliteration

I love my job. I love my patients. I love to dance.

It’s absolutely gorgeous outside.

I was only waiting for this moment to arise.

Have Legs, Will Walk

I still have a long way to go to meet my NAMI walk quota.

As mentioned before, I will be walking for NAMI next weekend.

It’s an amazing organization, which strives to reduce the stigma for those who have mental illnesses.

Kill Your Television

I would write some other inspirational words, but I was on call yesterday and worked my butt off today. I’m pooped.

Here is the linky to donate: http://www.nami.org/namiwalks11/NYC/kendracampbell

Your support is very, very, very much appreciated!

Enjoy the random photo with this post, which was taken on my walk to the hospital, where I care for patients with mental illnesses every day, and am inspired….

Never Stopping

“Well,” said Pooh, “what I like best,” and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn’t know what it was called.”
- A.A. Milne

“Happiness is never stopping to think if you are.”
- Palmer Sondreal

The

I’m so tired right now, it hurts. I had a very long week and day packed full of seeing patients at the clinic today. I then came home and cleaned my apartment. Hypomania is a very good thing.

I just finalized my vacation plans and booked flights and hotels.

The basic itinerary?

Driving to Maryland with 2 dogs and my pink luggage for my friend’s wedding on Saturday, May 14th.
Flying to Barcelona the next day.
5 amazing nights in Barcelona.
Flying from Barcelona to Paris.
3 incredible nights in Paris.
Taking a train to Amsterdam.
3 mind blowing nights in Amsterdam.
Flying back to the States.
2 lovely nights at my parents’ farm in Virginia.
Driving from Virginia to NYC with 2 dogs and a killer sun tan.
Starting a rotation in inpatient medicine the next day.
One month of grueling work in medicine.

And then my intern year is over.

Never stopping…

These Things Are Fun

It Gets Better

Awesome video. Awesome organization.

You Will Have Been All of These

“How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and the strong.
Because someday in life, you will have been all of these. ”
- George Washington Carver

I Heart NY

I had a wonderful day at the clinic today. I continue to be infatuated with my work, and my patients.

Too tired to say more, so please enjoy these “trashy” photos taken on my walk to the hospital in lieu of verbiage.
