It’s Not Sane

“All I can say is that my life is pretty plain
ya don’t like my point of view
ya think I’m insane
Its not sane……it’s not sane”

Kendra and Scope

I’m so tired right now that my fingers are having trouble typing these words. The long and short of it? After a long day at the hospital, including some awesome psychiatry lectures, I decided to go for a run with my doggies and friend Chris. (It was 63 degrees outside and we couldn’t resist.)

We ran from Prospect Park in Brooklyn to DUMBO (dropped off a package to Chris’s friend), and then ran over the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan. Then back over the Manhattan Bridge into Brooklyn. Almost 15 miles. Not too shabby after a long day’s work.

And fairly insane.

I’m now going to consume about 4,500 calories before hitting the sack.

I’m one tired, but very happy, camper.

Awesome pics from the run. Looks like fun! I want to ask you actually about a post on the Inkblot, the “Would you want to know?” post. I want to hear more about your method of delivering tough news to patients and families. I am applying to Ross for this September and for the past three years have worked in a high acuity OR. So I haven’t had to directly deliver any of this type of information yet, but I know it’s coming and I know that it makes up a pretty significant part of any physician’s career, although there is some significant variation depending on specialty. Anyway, yea I’d love to hear more from you on this… when you have a chance, of course.
Thanks again for your wonderful, inspiring blog. You rock.
