Tomorrow is Another One
“Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one.”

It’s almost 11:00 p.m. I just got home from a very long day at the hospital. I’m pooped, but pleased.
Today was sort of a “mixed up” day. It started out early at the out-patient medicine clinic. I saw four patients in a fairly short period of time. I heart my patients.
Next up, I spent the afternoon in psychiatry didactic lectures. One of the highlights was a lecture by a music therapist (his title was actually longer, but I can’t quite recall it). He gave a fabulous lecture, which I would love to write at length about, but need to eat right now. The gist is that he studies the use of music as therapy for folks with severely debilitating neurological and psychiatric conditions. Amazing stuff. Part of his presentation involved talking about the research of the guy in the TED clip below.
The coolest part? Watching someone do freestyle hip hop in an fMRI machine. Super, super, duper cool.
After didactics, I ran to do my psychiatry consultation liaison call. An interesting pediatric case and an adult suicide attempt. It’s been some time since I have done a psychiatric evaluation, so I was a bit rusty, but it all came back fairly quickly and naturally to me. I heart psychiatry.
Now it’s time for dinner, shower, and bed. I also have a presentation to work on but will have to save that for tomorrow.
Tomorrow is Another One.
