Don’t worry. I had someone attempt to steal my brand new iPhone last month… and when they knew they weren’t going to be able to get away with it, they flushed it. And because I’m out of the country, I had to ship it back home to get it replaced. I also lost my old iPhone last year. But I think it’s still worth the money to invest in a new one.
The only thing that will suck is losing all your apps/photos/etc. Unless you’ve backed up your phone regularly.
Oh, and if you have MobileMe, can you try that to see if you can track it?

funny story…i DID track it…all the way to a museum where junkies shoot up legally…anyway, very long story, but i never recovered it…
but will be buying one as soon as i get back to NYC!!
