School’s In For the Summer
“No more pencils
No more books
No more teacher’s dirty looks”- Alice Cooper, “School’s Out”
My absence from this blog is palpable. Lately, I’ve fallen into a strange routine of coming home from work around 6:00, scarfing down way too much food and then falling asleep by 8:00. I sleep right on through until it’s time to get up and do it again the next day.
Yes, I am now a PGY-2er. Yes I think my geriatric psychiatry rotation is cool. Yes I realize that this blog post is a steaming pile of stream of consciousness goo.
Today I had psychiatry lectures the entire day. Save for my sleepiness, I enjoyed it all.
On the way home, there was a massive rain storm. I was walking with my fellow “psychos” (psychiatry residents) and since there were only 2 umbrellas between the 4 of us, we ended up basically just ditching the umbrellas (actually, “Modes” stole mine) and I did what I frequently do and just decided to let the rain soak my body. I took off my shoes and skipped down the street. A piece of glass in my foot and some ice cream later, I was home. I love good friends and rain.
Photos: Taken minutes prior to the storm. Yum.
