here’s a copy of the message I just sent you on Medscape:

Just happened to see this page and thought I’d mention, re: “Both
forms of expression are highly therapeutic, and I’ve seen firsthand how
many of my patients have benefited”… that there is actually a
long-existing formalized collection of “PhotoTherapy” techniques —
that use photos and videos in psychological and related well-being
practices, both photos-during-therapy (“PhotoTherapy” techniques) and
also photos-AS-therapy (“Therapeutic Photography”) as well as “parallel”
uses of videos as well… You can find out MUCH more, at the website for “PhotoTherapy Techniques in Counseling and Therapy”, at:
http://www.phototherapy-centre.com The entry page gives clear
definitions (and then click on the tree to enter the rest of the site,
where you can find a full page about each, information about
publications, theses, dissertations, and history re: this field, as well
    as current practitioners, publications, training/education
opportunities, and many chapters and professional articles that can be
downloaded for free (and info about a practical book that is like a
workshop written down) As well as in the very active Facebook
Group (anyone can join): “PhotoTherapy, Therapeutic Photography, Photo
    Art Therapy, and VideoTherapy” at:
    https://www.facebook.com/groups/PhotoTherapy.and.Therapeutic.Photography If
you wish to be notified of PhotoTherapy-related events in the future,
send me your email address and I will add you to that list! GLAD
to see your information posted here — the more people realize the
amazing power of photos to connect with feelings and memories, and how
to do this in an intentional way, the better people can begin to feel! Judy Weiser, R.Psych., A.T.R.,
